Guess I'll also move my trap a bit further away as well. ![]() As long as you're in the biome, it doesn't matter specifically where the trap is (it could be on the roof of a building in a deep forest biome, for example, and still catch rabbits). Hover over the window and it'll tell you the biome. You can view what biome the area is where you're standing by selecting the investigate area option to bring up the location window. Location matters, but most things can be caught in vegetation and forest/deep forest. Rabbits and squirrels are also nocturnal, and will only be caught in the late evening and night. You also need the trap to be at least around 75 tiles away from your character (about a full screen zoomed out to 250%) to catch something when it ticks. I use potatoes in my box traps for rabbits, for example.
